Barcelona to Sitges Car Rally 2020
March 21 - March 23
The annual Barcelona to Sitges Car Rally is one of the oldest of its kind in Europe and 2020 sees the 62nd edition. In fact the only older car rally in the world is the London to Brighton. Last year saw 67 cars produced before 1928 and 18 motorcycles produced before 1938.
The fantastic vehicles and the people who travel in them take Sitges rushing backing in time. The participants have to dress according to the year that their vehicle was made and so there are some truly awesome outfits! We love the very old fire engine with the people riding it having found century old “bomberos” outfits!
On the Saturday, many cars are lined up in front of the Illa Diagonal mall in Barcelona and at the square at La Fragata in Sitges. You can wander around and get a good look a them.
Then on Sunday, the rally winds down the C31 from Barcelona to the Port of Aiguadolc. After a break for music and refreshments the cars head into Sitges town and parade down the Paseo Maritim. Later on, throughout the day, the vehicles are on display at various locations in Sitges.
The intimate nature of the route gives spectators and admirers an unparalleled opportunity to get up close to the vehicles. In fact, you can chat to the proud participants about their pride and joy. Of course, vintage vehicle themed events are front and centre for the weekend, and there is lots of toasting these exceptional old beauties.
